Besides scanning in-house, consider outsourcing this process. Click here to learn more about outsourced scanning options.
Criteria for Selecting an In-house
Scanner:
Scanning speed: Pages Per
Minute, or "PPM." A scanner rated at 15 PPM will scan
an 8.5 x 11 inch sheet in 4 seconds. Scanner throughput should be
provided to adequately handle peak periods of resume volume. If
desired, multiple scanners may be used with your Greentree system
with multiple ScanStation licenses.
Input tray capacity: Rated in
number of sheets, usually refers to unfolded, smooth sheets,
unlike resumes! Divide by 2 to arrive at "resume
sheets."
Scanning resolution: 300 DPI, black and white only,
is preferred for scanning resumes. Higher resolutions are
required for scanning graphics, photographs, and other non-text
applications.
Service & Repair: Repair
options range from "Depot Maintenance" where the scanner is dropped
off at an authorized repair facility and pay for any
needed repairs, to full on-site maintenance contracts. Depot
maintenance is provided for scanners purchased from Greentree
unless other service arrangements are made.
Other Uses: Will the scanner be used for applications other than Greentree? If so,
consider purchasing a faster scanner (to free it up more
often) with additional features for the other planned
application. Please note: For maximum work flow and
department efficiency, most Greentree installations provide a
dedicated scanner for scanning resumes.
